BLACKSBURG – Senior Rose Micheaux became the second player in program history to record a triple-double Saturday with her 19-point, 14-rebound and career best 10-assist effort against Elon. Her final assist, to fellow senior Matilda Ekh came with 9:39 to play in the game, eclipsing the record for the fastest triple-double in program history.

The win takes Tech’s record to 5-1 ahead of a trip to sunny Florida for the Fort Myers Tip-Off next week. The Phoenix fell to 3-2 on the season.

Micheaux, who entered the game on a two-game double-double streak, continued her efficient play going 8-12 from the field and taking advantage of mismatches in the post.

For the game, Tech outshot the Phoenix, out rebounded them and forced 17 turnovers, capitalizing to the tune of 26 points.

Four Hokies were in double figures with Ekh (16), Mackenzie Nelson (career-high 12), and Carleigh Wenzel (11) joining Micheaux.

The Hokies are back on the court on Friday, Nov. 29 against Davidson in the opening game of the Fort Myers Tip-Off.
