Micheaux’s perfect shooting day guides Hokies to third straight win

BLACKSBURG – Senior forward Rose Micheaux scored 11 second half points, part of her 20 to lead the Hokies down the stretch to their third consecutive ACC victory Sunday afternoon at Cassell Coliseum. Tech walked away with a 61-54 win over Wake Forest, ahead of two more home contests next week.

Tech improved to 12-4 (3-2), while the Demon Deacons are 7-9 (0-5) on the season.

Micheaux’s 20-point performamce, her second such game in a row, came with a bit of history. She went 9-for-9 from the field, just the third player in program history to accomplish the feat joining Nicole Jones in 1999 and Amy Byrne in 1989.

She was joined in double figures by Carys Baker (11) and Lani White (10).

The Hokies are back on the court Thursday, Jan. 16 against rival Virginia. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m.
