Virginia Tech retires Kitley’s Jersey

On Sunday during half time of the Hokies game with Louisville, Virginia Tech retired Elizabeth Kitley’s jersey. Her number 33 jersey will hang high from the rafters of Cassell Coliseum.

Kitley is Virginia Tech’s all time leader in scoring, rebounding, double doubles and blocks. She was a three time All-American and three time ACC player of the year.

Kitley was a three time Kay Yow Scholar Athlete of the Year recipient.

The Las Vegas Aces selected Kitley as the 24th overall pick in the WNBA. She is currently living there rehabbing her knee from a injury she suffered late last season against Virginia.
